Setting default file name in virtual documents?
« on: January 27, 2010, 01:04:17 am »
Hi again (hope this is my last question for today :) ) !

I was wondering, if there is any additional tagged value or anything else where I could enter a default file name (without the directory)...

I know I can save that into a resource document...but I don't want to have to maintain too many document. And I wonder, why there has to be virtual and resource documents? couldn't there be just one feature including all that functionality?

Otherwise, for one RTF output document, I have to maintain 1 template (formatting), 1 virtual document (included packages) and 1 resource document (filenames and additional options).

Considering that I have more than 1 document type, this sound like a lot of work.

I just want to specify the file name so that every colleague who creates the document uses the same file name but still can choose where to save these documents.

Thanks!

Never stop questioning.... then you stop learning ;-)

I have now for each use case specification a master document containing:
  • Intro
  • Use case
  • Screen navigation
  • Screen
  • Domain model

Imagine what ithis will look like if you have > 350 UC's ....
So... we have our reports in a package structure right now, just for finding our way back....
A luckey thing is, that you only have to configure your report per Use Case once. :-)

Hi Marcel!

Thank you for your reply.

But honestly, I don't really understand how this helps to solve my problem  ::)

Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough what I want...  :-/
