Configuring RTF Reports
« on: January 26, 2010, 02:35:43 am »
When I generate a RTF Report using the use case template, certain fields are not defined.
  • How do I set the values for the fields on the title page.  e.g. Version, Created, By, etc?
  • How can I rename the title of the document?  Instead of "Use Case Document", I'd like something like "XYZ Use Case Document"

for #1 - there have to be an element in the property browser - just play with some settings there

#2 - I would copy from standard template and create my own version with whatever labeling I need

Thanks for the feedback. So far, I haven't found the right properties used by the use case template.

1. Find "Project Constants" in the EA help. These values can help you to define document version, author... First, define the constants. After that, edit the template to include these constants in the first page

2. Open the template, edit the title and save it!

If I've understood you correctly you're using the template that shipped with EA which in verson 7.5 build 850 appears under Resources/Templates/Document Templates/System  and is named "(use case template)".

As far as I know the built-in/shipped templates cannot be modified.   You need to make a copy of this template - select it in the browser, right-click and choose "copy document template".   Name it the way you want in the panel that appears.   It gets created under the "Model" section of the browser - not in the "System" section where you started this process.   Look for the name you used, select it, then right-click and choose "Modify document template".   You can now edit the template any way you want (within the constraints of the RTF editor).
