External Requirements
« on: March 01, 2010, 09:44:34 am »
Hello. I have a question regarding external requirements.
The documentation shows examples of how to make a requirement external, and saving this to a nominated package. Thats fine.

However, I have not been able to find out how to do it in reverse, i.e.  Having an existing requirement and linking this into an Artifact (Use Case etc) so it appears in the requirement Tab.

Can anyone help.

Thanks

Roland

Hi Roland,

If you place a requirement element on a drawing and link to it from, say, a Use Case with a Realization link, the external requirement (the requirement element you just placed) will then show up as an external requirement in the Use Case property page. This works with elements other than Use cases as well.

Alternatively, you can set up the same link using the Relationship Matrix.
