MS Access 2002/3 Import DB schema from ODBC source

I am trying to import a Microsoft Access 2002/2003 database schema into Sparx EA. I have defined an ODBC Data Scource and when I press Import, all tables are shown in the Select Database Object to Import-window. It doesn't matter if I select one or all tables, I always ger the message "Unrecognized database format". The User Guide under Data Modeling, Introduction states:

Enterprise Architect supports import of database schema from these databases:
DB2
Firebird/InterBase
Informix
Ingres
MS Access 97, 2000, 2003
Access 2007
MS SQL Server
MySQL
Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g
PostgreSQL
Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere (Sybase ASA)
Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (Sybase ASE).

Why does it not work for me? Is MS Access 2002/2003 not supported? I have tried MS Access 2000 also with the same result.

You need to load JET 4 to import from Access 2000-2003. Tools | Options | Use JET 4. Re-start EA.

The Jet 4.0 setting did the trick, and I was able to import the schema with tables from my MS Access 2003 database. I think that this could have been mentioned in The User Guide under Data Modeling, Introduction after MS Access '97, 2000, 2003.

Good forum this, it did not take long before I got the answer to my problem.

Thanks for the report. A note concerning the need for setting the Use Jet 4.0 checkbox for MS Access has recently been added to the Import Database Schema From ODBC topic in the Help, for EA Release 8.0.
