Clarification needed of diagram "owned" elements
« on: March 18, 2010, 10:51:40 pm »
Hi,

I'm new to EA so forgive me if I ask a simple question. When copying a diagram, the dialog presents the option of a shallow copy which "duplicates owned elements only". What are owned elements and what are the other types of element? Links?

For example, when adding class elements to a class diagram these are not owned; when adding object elements to the same diagram, it appears they are owned since they are duplicated upon a subsequent shallow copy of the diagram, whereas the former aren't.

Thanks,
Nicole

Can't give an exact answer about what 'owned elements' are. The usual case is to have 'Links' on your diagrams.
As far I know so far, copying diagrams in EA doesn't work very well from point of view what you're familiar with in usual drawing or text editors.
