RTF Exports Minus Linked Documents

I have what sounds like a simple issue, but I can't find an answer and was wondering if anyone out there knows a solution.

I have a model that I generate RTF exports from, using various RTF templates that we created. Some of the elements we extract into RTF files have linked documents attached. What I would like to know is -
Is there any way to control which linked documents are included in an RTF export ?

The Filtering in the RTF covers Element and some sub-element detail (other Element), but there is no faciltiy to filter by Linked Document (I am not aware that there are user defined attributes to filter by).

I couldn't think of any option or descriptor that could discriminate linked documents in this way, but was hoping there was something in the background that could be modified. I know there is the facility to exclude packages by name from HTML exports, and hoped there could be something similar for RTF exports.
