What is italic text at top right corner of class?
« on: April 08, 2010, 10:37:50 pm »
I have Enterprise Architect (Program version : 7.5.844) and have a problem with changing values on the class properties.

There is italic text in the top right corner of some classes on my model and I can not seem to find where these are being set or what the meaning is?

I would appreciate your assistance in finding where this "text" is maintained and also its meaning.

Are your classes set as abstract? That will place their name in italics.
Otherwise, is the text the same as any of the text within the properites of the class?
Can you give an example?

The italic text in the top right corner is the name of the superclass of the class shown.
It only shows when that superclass is not shown on the diagram.
There is an option somewhere to toggle that indicator.

The class is not set as abstract. The text shown is "Entity". It shows above the stereotype.

If it is indeed the superclass, where can I see the setting to toggle it and also where do you set the super class?

Thanks foor your help so far.

I FOUND SOMETHING : When I unselect the toggle "Show Additional Parent", the text is not displayed anymore.????

Setting the superclass is done by creating a generalization relation.

I don't know exactly where that option is. It can be either in the diagram properties, or in the Tools/Options menu.
