Interface - Circle Notation Issue
« on: June 03, 2010, 12:13:48 am »
People like the circle notation for interfaces(Context menu > Advanced > Use Circle Notation) because it's smaller, or looking smarter, or....? They use it :-)

The documentation says:
Quote
Interfaces are drawn in a similar way to a Class, with operations specified, as shown below. They can also be drawn as a circle with no explicit operations detailed. Right-click on the element and select the Use Circle Notation context menu option to switch between styles. Realization connectors to an Interface drawn as a circle are drawn as a solid line without target arrows.

What people in my company don't like is that the standard dashed line with arrow at the target is replaced with a solid line without target arrow. It causes confusion and time is consumed unnessesarily because it is asked again and again.

So, we would like to know how to override that so that the line/arrow style is the regular notation again. Where can we do this?

I don't think you can, and I believe the UML spec actually specifies this behavior.

So you want to go from a documented standard UML notation to your own invented notation because your users don't understand  :-/

Maybe you just need to give them a UML refresh course.

Oh well if it's the standard notation then they need to decide between circles without arrows or boxes with...  8-)
