work with colored elements
« on: June 29, 2010, 04:53:48 pm »
hi,

i'm new here and this is my first post :)

i changed the background color (in the default apperance dialog) of a use case to yellow and the background color of an activity to green. this works fine. now i add a new use case or an new activity. they both appear in the standard color which is in tools --> options defined. is it possible that for example the use case always appears in the color which i defined? i tried a lot and i find out that it is possible to define a new stereotype with this properties, but i don't want to define a new stereotype, because i want the standard and already defined use case.

now i create a new project and i also want that the use case appears yellow and the activity green. is it possible to export these configuration and import the configuration into a new project? i found out that i can do this with the export and import of an element template package. but the element template package always appears in the project brower and i don't want to see it there.

i hope some of you can help me or has any idea!

Anja,

Lookup "template package" in the help file.
If you add a usecase there with the appropriate formatting this will be used as a template for all future new use cases.

oh, now i know what you mean  :)

i tried these. but my problem is that the element template package appears in the project browser. and i don't want that it appears there. Is there no possibility to hide that package in the project browser?

Then how would you find it?  ;)

ok, you are right.
do you know any other possibility?
my problem is that for example a use case should appears always yellow, when i add a new use case to the diagram. and for the use case should no new stereotype defined. also should be the use case exportable so that other users can also provide from this adjustment.

Look up the API. You can catch creation of elements and do fancy things.
