BPMN
« on: July 16, 2010, 02:48:19 am »
I have seen documents from Sparx that has more notation than is presently in the BPMN 1.1.  One pdf from 2007 called "UML Tutorial The Business Process Model" shows Start Event Timer etc..  Is there a way to get more of the notations?  Also what are your plans for BPMN 2.0?

Thanks,
Garth

I am not sure how much you have explored BPMN in EA, but the event triggers are set by Tagged Values.

Open up the Tagged Values for your events and you should see the Timer / Message etc.

For intermediate events you can also specifiy "throw" and "catch"

The same Tagged Values applies to gateways, activities and sequence flows.

From my experience EA's BPMN is a complete implementation of BPMN 1.1, the only item I have not seen is an iconic representaion of manual/service/send/receive/script/reference tasks (however these are captured within Tagged Values)

Can't comment on BPMN 2.0 support, but it should be forthcomming since Sparx are members of the OMG BPMN group

Cheers

Phil
