Detect Class instantation in reverse engineering
« on: August 19, 2010, 06:38:23 am »
Hi.

I'm using Enterprise Architect to create the class diagram through the reverse engineering process.

It works pretty well but I detect that it's not creating relationships with classes that are instantiated or used inside other ones.

If I have two classes A and B and A has a method foo where a variable of type B is used, the diagram does not link A and B.

Does Enterprise Architect detect this? Is it a matter of configuration?

Lot of thanks.

No, EA doesn't look at anything inside method bodies.

which is a bit of a bummer, but does afford you an oppertunity to practise drawing depenancy relationships and encourages you to explore the reverse engineered results while gaining insight to the hidden interdependancies of your model.

Feature request might help... in many respects EA  is a 'Analysist' tool.
