How to output objects referenced as a simple link

I would like to be able to output the detail of objects such as requirements when they are referenced from a package as a simple link in a diagram and not necessarily native to that package.
Currently when I output the RTF, only the details of the requirements that physically sit in that package are output in detail. The requirements created in the diagram as a simple link only appear as entities in the diagram. Is there a way of doing this? It would really help us with document output if we could virtualise reusable requirements in this way and have them output to rtf.
