Include linked file in rtf documentation

I have an linked jpg image I would like to include in my rtf documenation. How can I do that?

On an Element, create a linked document and insert the image (via menu Insert -> Link image).

I created a document and linked it to my element with an association. But this is not working.

Try.
Right click on the element, and select "Created Linked Document".
Then insert your image into this document.
Generate an RTF Document.
