Adding fields to requirements specifications
« on: December 07, 2010, 06:32:22 am »
I am interested in importing additional fields for existing requirements via CSV.   When I go to define a new import/export specification there is a list of fields from which to select:

1.      Name
2.      Type
3.      GUID
4.      Notes
5.      Phase
6.      Version
7.      Priority
8.      ………..

What I would like to do is be able to add new fields to the import/export specification.  I have added fields via tagged values, but this is not exactly what I need.  I would like these new fields to show up in the “General” tab of the “Package: Extensibility” pop up along with Name, Notes, Complexity, Scope, etc.   Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
 :)

Currently not possible without implementing an add-in and creating your own properties.

I am studying Chapter 11 in the user guide.  Can you provide hints as to how to start?  Are there code samples for Add-ins?  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

JT,

You'll also find example addins in your installation folder: C:\Program Files\Sparx Systems\EA\Code Samples
and on the community site
