Code page, text encoding problem in EAP project
« on: December 19, 2010, 11:06:23 pm »
Hello,
I have created project in EA8 on windows xp with my national characters (Poland such as [ch261] [ch281] [ch322] [ch347] [ch380] [ch378] :D).
Now I migrated to OpenSuSE and installed EA on wine.

After loading .eap to EA on wine instead of my national characters I see wrong signs.
I suspect this would be solved after I change the code page for EA but I could not find a proper option.
Do you know where to find it?

Are you using .eap files?  In that case you will need to find the option for WINE (or the bottle, I'm not a WINE expert that is equivalent to windows "Current language for non-Unicode programs".

Other options are:
Installing JET 4 (but I'm not sure if this is possible because JET 4 is only distributed with the OS and some other Microsoft products.) and upgrading your existing repository to use JET 4.
Using a "real" dbms, which also requires additional software installed into your bottle.
