Finding operations in sequence diagrams
« on: April 11, 2011, 09:02:25 pm »
I'm creating sequence diagrams and for the messages between the objects I'm selecting an appropriate operation that already exists on the objects classifier.

The problem is when I want to change the operation on the classifier I have no idea which sequence diagrams it affects.

The question is:  what tools (or search queries) can I use to find out in which diagrams an operation is being used?

[I originally though it would be possible to click on the operation in the project browser and do something like "Find in all diagrams" - but no such luck!]

All ideas appreciated!!

That functionality was added to EA 9 beta 2.

Yes - just had a look at the trial version and that's exactly the functionality I need - its perfect!

Unfortunately, its going to take a while to get our IT dept to upgrade.  In the meantime - is there any search query I can do to get the same information?

Jill,

The EA Navigator add-in I published on the community site does exactly that (and some more).
It's both free and open source.
