Shape text and background color in Logical Diagram
« on: June 16, 2011, 08:25:43 am »
Is there any reason why I can't set visible text and the background color for the Rectangle object in a Logical Diagram (i.e. Whiteboard)?  The buttons to set background and adjust text font etc. are available but nothing shows inside the rectangle.  Looks like the other shapes have the same behavior.  I was expecting that the text and background would work similar to objects on other diagrams (e.g. use cases) but this does not appear to be the case.  What am I missing?

If you're using a whiteboard diagram, then background colours are completely disabled.

You can change that by opening the options for the diagram and on the Diagram page there is an option 'Whiteboard Mode'.

Thanks for that Simon.  Didn't completely solve my problem, but it gave me a clue on where to look.  In the shape 'Properties' in the 'Whiteboard' section there are two fields called 'Fill' and 'nameVisible' - both are set to false by default.  Changing these to true fixed the issue. Great!
