Formatting connectors in a diagram
« on: June 01, 2011, 03:15:20 pm »
I have a data model with dozens of connectors.
How do I for this diagram:

1) change the font or font size of all connector labels (like them to be smaller)
2) hide all connector labels on the diagram (I tried diagram properties to no avail)
3) change Line Style for all labels

without doing each one separately?

Via automation?
By the user interface, in the normal course of creating and maintaining diagrams on the screen.

Wasn't supported in 8 - not supported in 9.

Seems an obvious usability expectation, though, doesn't it?

Don't bother with the 'function request' form - this specific UI enhancement has been getting asked for ever since I first started using Sparx EA back in 1948.

That's not a joke, but it is in the form of a joke. ;)

Just had to go through this effort now.

Damn this is a pain.  For any large diagram, this is on helluva laborious task.  Surely they can easily create a "area selector" that picks up connections only.  You could then rightclick and apply the style.

Horrible

They even can't select multiple connectors via click. You better get used to automation for that kind of tasks. EA is already overloaded with buggy features. A stable and easy to handle API will do you a much better job.

A database hack is about the easiest way.

It means fiddling with the t_siagramlinks or t_connector.style value (not sure which).  I remember writing a script to do it (hide all connectors) but since lost.

you mentioned diagram properties... the last tab has a "hid all connectors" option - no work for u?

As far as tweaking font size - not sure
