Beginner's question: Link to diagram
« on: July 07, 2011, 09:13:10 pm »
Hello,

This is probably a simple-to-answer question: In the example project there is a “Getting started” diagram named “Using the example model”. It contains packages like “Software Engineering”, “SOA and XML Engineering”. If I click on one of the package I am redirected to another diagram. Very cool feature. But how can I achieve the same in my own project? I did not find the option how I can link or associate one element to a diagram which opens if you click on that element. I tried out several options but none had the desired outcome, the clickable linkage.

Can someone tell me how to do this in the Corporate Edition?

In addition, if a Package within the project browser contains at least one diagram, then dragging this package onto a new diagram will result in the same navigation behaviour.

That is double click the package element on the diagram and the first diagram in that package will be opened

This technique is useful for creating "Table of Contents" like diagrams consisting of just package elements, created from major sections in your model.

For a really cool effect, replace the UML package element appearence with your own image (right-click the package then choose Set Alternate Image...)
