How to Connect Multiple Generalizations
« on: August 16, 2011, 03:10:41 am »
Hello,

I am new to EA so I am sorry if this question has been asked before. I wanted to know how to show that multiple derived classes have the same base class without drawing a separate generalization for each derived class. Is there some way to do this in EA ?

I am using EA 9.0908 - Desktop Edition on Windows 7.

Thank you.

Bruce

You can use a tree-style notation: right-click each generalization and "Line Style > Tree Style - Vertical". Or you can set it as the default line style for generalizations: "Tools > Options > Links > Generalization link style Default = Tree". But I'm afraid you will still have to draw a separate generalization for each derived class: F3 to repeat last connector may make it less arduous... ;)
