Hierarchical partitions in activity diagrams
« on: October 05, 2011, 06:05:14 pm »
Hello everybody.

I am trying to model a business process with an activity diagram and I would like to use hierarchical partitions, or swimlanes, but I can not figure out how to do it. Does EA let me do that ?.

Thanks.

Have you tried right-clicking on the diagram and selecting the option "Swimlanes and matrix.."  that appears ?

Alternatively, on a BPMN diagram,  you can add a pool and then lanes to the pool by using the toolbox.

No, I did not try right-clicking on the diagram and select that option. After try it, I still have not found what I am looking for (like U2 used to say  ;D ).

I find it particularly tricky. I am using MagicDraw and to add a partition inside a partition is as easy as right-click the partition and select "Insert Inner Swinlane".

Let me remember you that I am asking for HIERARCHICAL partitions.

Cheers.
