Connector layout

Hello,

I am having problems with setting a suitable style for connectors. My customized styles does not seem to maintain the proper settings, only graphical properties such as line thickness and color.

What I would like to do is to auto-pin the connector end points the center of each object and to force each connector to be orthogonal.

We create our diagrams in workshop environments and modeling speed is a key factor for tool usability.
