Extending TOGAF ACM
« on: November 02, 2011, 01:06:22 am »
Hi,
I would like to extend TOGAF concepts with my own (like giving them new names for instance) in Enterprise Architect. Is it possible to create "TOGAF Profile" extending the UML Profile for TOGAF 9?

Not directly as far as I know, however you could always modifiy the TOGAF MDG XML file directly.

This approach would replace the EA TOGAF with your modified version.

Or you make a copy and modify that. I have achieved a simlar result by creating a bespoke version of the BPMN1.1 profile

Cheers

Phil

Phil,
thanks for your inputs!

a) where can I find the TOGAF MDG XML file?
b) so the only way of extending existing UML Profile for TOGAF is making changes directly to the original/copy of TOGAF MDG file? UML Profiles/MDG can only be used extending UML. Im I getting it right?

Best regards,
Ismar
