Information on testing the trial version: ERROR

When i tried to test the interaction with my database on project browser -> database engineering i right clicked and went to Code Engineering -> Import schema from DB ODBC

When I tried to enter the path of my server the system tells me: "Unable To Obtain Table Information" and I'm not able to type or navigate to find my server options.

I tried it for Tools -> Database Engineering -> Import schema from DB ODBC and the same thing happened.

Information: I'm running the Professional trial version on WINE on an Ubuntu 10.10 distribution.

Any clue?

Hi gays,

I have the same problem. When I try to choose odbs name at Import DB schema EA shows error "Unable To Obtain Table Information".
EA v. 8.0.860
MySql v. 5.0.77
MySql ODBC 5.1 Driver

Pls help. What did I do wrong? Why can this error happen?

Shot in the dark here as I haven't used EA  on Wine under ubuntu and also not sure what data base Dejota is using. However I do recall a colleague having similar problems a few years back because the log on ID didn't have privileges to read the schema data. The solution was he changed his logon ID to have full admin privileges on the database.

This is the answer I got from sparx folks, it helped a lot.
I hope it can help all of you as well

You  would need to check that the steps covered on the link below have been followed :
http://www.sparxsystems.com/support/faq/enterprise-architect-WINE.html#two
 as well as, set up the correct ODBC connectors to your DBMS under Wine using the MDAC ODBC driver.
 
If that is complete and you still have problems we would need more detail on the DBMS being configured and the errors being returned.
