Central Repository locking issue

Hi, I'm not sure how EA works or is set-up but we have an issue with our Central Repository. When my colleague is in one of his projects the Central Repository is locked preventing any others from the team amending their projects.

Has anybody had similar experiences and how were they resolved.

What kind of repository? Which locking mechanism? Which security?

I'll try to get these details from my colleague who has more knowledge in this area but in general...

When we work on, or finish, a project we put them all into what we call our Central Repository. When we then try to access them for change we get a message saying their locked.
