Links and Connectors
« on: December 22, 2011, 08:50:41 am »
Is there a way to hyperlink a 'connector' so when I double click, it opens up an Excel document?

Thanks!

There is an ugly way

1) Right click the connector and select "Attach note or constraint"
2) Select a note and leave the text blank (adding a hyperlink here does not appear to work)
3) From the common section of the diagram toolbox add a hyperlink to the diagram and set its properties to

Type  : File
Action : Open
Address : file path to your Excel file
Alias : Text to be displayed

Optionally hide the hyperlink icon (the globe)

4) Lastly move the hyperlink inside the note created in step 2) and resize as necessary

Double clicking this text will open your spreadsheet in Excel

Cheers
