Export Model to Doors
« on: January 11, 2012, 10:12:25 pm »
Hello, I'm evaluating EA for my company and was wondering if it's possible to export the EA model via the Doors Add-In  (or any other way) into Doors like in Rhapsody?

Thanks!

No. This is (for good reasons) a one way. However, you may individually transfer data via EA add-in / DXL.

Thanks for your reply!  Can you give me some info regarding how that would work, as I'm not familiar with it.  Do you mean something like exporting the model as XML and using DXL to import it into Doors?  Or is there an easier way?

There is no easy way. Depends what you want to have in DOORS. I met people which actually wanted to write use cases in DOORS rather than EA. If you just want to transfer requirements created in EA to DOORS this should be fairly simple. You can export them via CSV along with the GUID which you can use to uniquely identify them in the DXL script. But which way you go, it means you have some kind of programming to do by yourself.
