Numbering BPMN activities
« on: January 24, 2012, 09:12:15 am »
This is my first post.  Searched on keywords and came up empty.  I am developing a BPMN diagram and have been asked to number the activities to match a spreadsheet document that contains more detailed text descriptions of each activities.  The spreadsheet as an 'Activity Number' column and the desire is to match process diagram with spreadsheet.

Is there any built-in capability or location for storing 'activity number'?  Is there a way to extend model to include one?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

You could as suggested add a tagged value - search for uml profile in help. You could also just add it to the alias field, this way you can easily toggle between displaying the name and the number as required. Its a bit eaiser then using tagged values.

Another option would be to look at auto-numbering - the issue here is that Sparx would be the master for the numbers not your spreadsheet...so probably not much good for you...but still worth looking at for future reference.

Regards,

Jon.
