connet to IMS to get data model?
« on: May 21, 2012, 11:32:39 am »
I have a question for you all.

Is it possible to connect to IMS (through ODBC - Lets say I have a datasource configured using Viaserv direct) and reverse engineer the data model?
Any other ideas are appreciated - please advice.

Thank you, Joel

I guess you can. Why didn't you give it a simple try?

I want to propose this to our clients/supervisors. But, before doing that I wanted to make sure EA can do it.
Wondering whether anyone has done it before. I'm a little concerned because of the hierarchical nature of IMS over the relational nature of modern databases.
Thanks

If you can create aN ODBC connector it can connect to any ODBC and import a schema.
