how to change default size of symbols
« on: July 04, 2012, 06:35:29 pm »
Hi,

I'm mainly working on a 13"-screen :-( and I therefore  need to keep symbols as small as possible to get as much use as possible out of my limited space.

I've discovered that my activity symbols by default often have room for 4 rows of text, while I usually only use one row (most often just two words). I therefore manually make the symbols smaller.

Is there a way to make the default symbol smaller, e.g. just one row?

You must be kidding. 13". What about a secondary monitor? Should be available for a few SEK at you next electronics dealer.

well, sometimes is use my 11" convertable(touchscreen) notebook to show features of enterprise architect.

it works quite well - at least since 9.3 where you can float the diagrams :-)

for consultants this is ok but in productive ways i prefer 2 x 23"

Yes, use a template package.

(And I hadn't realized that Europeans measure screen size in inches not centimetres; thought that was just the English-speaking World.)

Yes. Officially everything in in metric units, but for historic reasons we still use inches for things like screen size, wheels (from cars or bicycles), bolts and some other stuff.

I have to observe that, as most Europeans speak English rather more fluently than the native English speakers do themselves, they should be regarded as part of - if not typical of - the English Speaking World.

At least I mark it:
<OT>
We even have 'english' words in germany, that aren't used in the rest of the english speaking world, e.g. 'handy' for mobile phone.
