Notes field size in attribute window
« on: August 29, 2012, 10:48:54 pm »
Hi,

Is there a way to configure (to increase) the notes field height in class attribute windows?

It's currently limited to 2 scrollable lines, which is not that convenient.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Bernard

Bernard,

There isn't, but there is a workaround.
If you select the attribute in your project browser you can edit the notes in the separate Notes view. (View|Notes if you don't have it open already)
Just be careful, because unlike the attributes window, the edits in the notes view are immediate (no OK or Apply or anything)

Thanks Geert! Your workaround is top-notch!

If some EA guys are reading this post : would it be possible to add a "splitter" between the notes field and the attribute list : increasing the height of the notes field would decrease the height of the attribute list?

Kr,
Bernard (from Belgium as well  ;))

Another, small, work-around is to expand the width of the Attribute Properties dialog, to give you a wider Notes field. You'd still have to scroll for multiple lines. Alternatively, put your notes in the element Notes field.

If you would like Sparx to consider your suggestion of an expandable (or simply larger) Notes field in the Attributes dialog, submit a Feature Request using the option in the Support column at the foot of this page. Then the appropriate Sparx people will see it.
Best Regards, Roy
