Manage locks - another way ?
« on: March 24, 2009, 09:37:06 pm »
Hi - Total newbie here and come from a support rather than development point of view so forgive me if this is old hat.

I'm finding the Manage locks screen ( Project -> Security > Manage Locks) to be a bit of a pain to use - its size is not adjustable and its difficult to track down items for unlocking.

Corporate policy is to lock everything out to team managers who unlock to team members when they need updates applying. This caused problems when holidays ,sickness happen - its policy so cannot be changed

I'm thinking there may be ways of doing this better - either the automation interface or direct via SQL ?

Would removing a row from seclocks table cause issues elsewhere ?

any advice on best approach ?

You can sort the locked elementes on user who is sick or holiday and then select those elements to unlock them.
