Customizable Port size
« on: April 12, 2013, 11:38:57 pm »
I've found that now port size is customizable. Great !
I've used it and, fantastic, I've been able to change a port size. Then I've decided to add a required interface and a provided interface to the port and to increase readibility, I've tried to separate them inside the port.
But I can't find a way to do this. My interfaces are still stucked together !
Do you know if there's a way to move interfaces independently inside a resized port ? If it's not the case I can't see the use of this new feature.

Nobody (or at least not enough people) have asked for a feature to move the interfaces of a port. (I also think this should be possible but it's not urgent currently.)

But can you please explain how to resize a port? I was not able. Or is it just via a MDG?

In version 10 you select a port and in the contextuel menu you select "Advanced" and "Port Size Customizable".
Then you can change the port size but I don't know how you can move interfaces inside it. If you can't this feature seems useless.

Ah! Thanks. Indeed very silly to introduce a resizing for a port without making the interfaces moveable. What should I say?  :-X

That would be true if you considered interfaces the only thing that ports contain... The option was added because SysML users increasingly needed to use embedded ports.

But interfaces are the most "protruding" objects. I can't find an euphemism to put it in other words. I guess the reason SysMLers asked for the feature was to place interfaces more freely than it was (and is) possible. Even if not, see my first argument.
