Could EA10.0 connect to SQL Server on VM?
« on: April 18, 2013, 09:58:55 pm »
I have Windows 7 and running Hyper-V. I have SQL Server running on Virtual machine. VM is running SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2012.  I can connect with RDP to VM from my workstation.

I'm running Enterprise Architect 10.0 on my workstation and I would like to establish connection between EA and the SQL Server on VM.

When create ODBC, it cannot find SQL Server on VM. Is this scenario possible to all or does EA and ODBC require that SQL Server is installed locally to same Windows?

Please check your firewall settings.

it is possible to work with virtual machines in both ways. (VM as client, VM as Server - The OS doesn't matter for it.)
If you take a look at the Bugs/Issues, you can finde some infromation about the ODBC-Connector(Some of them are not working correctly).
