Multiple projects in a single Oracle Repository
« on: May 01, 2013, 10:57:07 pm »
I have just installed EA 10 and created an Oracle Repository for it.

I noticed when you create a new project and transfer it any existing data in the repository is overwritten.

Is there a way to have multiple projects in an Oracle Repository or am I stuck with creating a new one for each project?

One way to do it is to have a node which contains the master elements and then separate nodes for each project which are then able to include links to the master elements.  The project nodes would then have a as a top level folder structure your standard approach, for example: Conceptual, Logical and Physical models under which in turn you would have your model views e.g Classes, Business Processes, Requirements, Components

When you have multiple projects in .eap files, and you want to migrate them to a DBMS then you can do the biggest one with the model transfer feature, and you need to do the rest of them with xmi export/import.

And indeed you can have multiple roots for your different models.
