Transparency in alternate image imported from PNG
« on: May 23, 2013, 11:31:04 am »
Hi. I wonder if anyone was successful using PNG image with transparency as an alternate image for the element in EA Sparx? Transparent pixels in all PNG files I tried to import into EA Sparx end up 'black', both in the image preview and on the diagram. Tried to re-save and re-convert PNGs with different set of metadata contained within the file, all to no avail.

Anyone managed to preserve transparency on image import from _any_ format (eg, from emf or wmf)?

I can say that no-one will have managed from a png. I know it's possible for metafiles, but I haven't done it personally.

A pertinant and interesting question is why has Sparx not added support for png transparency,
it look like this was requested as far back as 2005

For example
I'll place a request for a review of EA's PNG rendering - sounds like it shouldn't be to difficult to implement
transparent appearance (for ui control element
[transparency] image library
PNG transparency support

Would Sparx like another feature request for this?
Orthogonality rules
Position and Team disestablished, thanks austerity.
Now itinerant.

But now you have 3 different rendering machines. None addressed this issue. :P

Let me guess what they do all day long between shooting dingos.
