How to install EA based on MS SQL ?
« on: August 03, 2013, 05:48:51 pm »
Hi,

I've installed EA several times on my laptop, but I can not rememeber if I was asked for database type (MS Access / MS SQL). I have a corporate floating licence.

How to install EA on the top of  MS SQL (I have the lates Version of MS SQL).

Thanks,

Michel

"If you plan to use SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Access
2007, Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere or Oracle 9i, 10g or
11g as a model repository, then you must use the Corporate,
Business and Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or
Ultimate editions of Enterprise Architect." from the users guide...

I have the choice between Coporate and Ulimate (licence).

There's a SQL script at Sparx' resource page for the according database. Use that to create a schema. Then transfer any existing EAP to that repository.

There is no difference in the installation of the EA client.
You just connect the client to the database where your model is stored.
