Display connectors in composite structure diagrams
« on: September 17, 2013, 07:32:39 pm »
Hello,

I work with composite structure diagrams a lot. I create parts and connect them with relationships (Connector or Information Flow). On another diagram I want to reuse this composite and add it as a part of a even bigger composite. Then I use the Structural Elements... dialog to display the parts of it. But EA only displays the parts, not the connectors between the embedded elements. And this seems to be independent from the type of connector.

Is there a way to display these connectors? I haven't found any setting, which can influence this behavior.

Thanks!

Hello,

I checked it with EA 10.09. It works fine. The connector is visible after I visualized the parts in the composite class wirh Structural Elements.

Thank you for your reply!

Just to make sure:
- create a composite structure diagram
- create a class
- add to parts to the class
- connect the parts with a Connector
- create another composite structure diagram
- create a second class
- drag the first class from the project browser onto the second class as a property
- display all structural elements

Now you see the relationship between the two parts of the first class? I - and all my colleagues - don't see it (with EA10.009).

It works, when you drag the class as a link onto another diagram. But not as a part of another composite.
