save options in Generate Documentation?
« on: October 03, 2013, 03:57:55 pm »
Hi,

I'm currently evaluating whether EA is suitable for my team and I'm trying to find a way to consistently generate the same type of reports from EA.

I have a Package which contains a whole bunch of element type that I do not want displayed. At the moment, I can filter out these elements in the generate documentation dialog.

However, I don't want me or other BAs to have to remember these options everytime I need to generate the document for this package.

Is it possible to save these filters on my RTF template or save the options from the Generate Documentation dialog? I need to be able to save the these filter customizations at a Package or Template level.

You can do that both ways - define a template to generate a report with consistent settings, or save the immediate settings on the Generate Report dialog as a Resource document that you can regerate from that dialog or from the Resources window.

Both options are comprehensively described in the Help, so I'd recommend you go and read the RTF Reporting section.
