"Inheritage" of colors of DiagramObjects
« on: October 31, 2013, 03:29:56 am »
Hello,

I changed the color of an DiagramObject from the standard color to my prefered one. Can I make shure, that all DiagramObjects representing the same Element, but in different Diagrams are shown with the same new (preferred) color?

Many thanks in advance

If you change the colour with right-click -> Appearance -> Default Appearance (F4), it will apply to that element on all diagrams. If you use the format painter in the diagram toolbar, it will only apply on the current diagram.

Just want to specify one condition on KP's comment.

If you change the colour with right-click -> Appearance -> Default Appearance (F4), it will apply to that element on all diagrams except diagrams that override the appearance. If you use the format painter in the diagram toolbar, it will only apply on the current diagram, overriding any default appearance set.

If your question is how can you ensure that it is always represented with the same colour, then you need to check all existing diagrams to ensure they haven't overridden the colour.
