BPMN Boundary Events
« on: November 05, 2013, 02:23:35 am »
I cannot for the life of me create an intermediate boundary event on an activity in a BPMN diagram.
Steps:
1. Deselect any element in the diagram (when an activity is selected, it is not possible to insert a new element anyway)
2. Popup menu: New Element or Connector -> Intermediate Event
3. Popup menu with: Stand Alone / Edge Mounted

When I select Edge Mounted nothing happens. This last popup menu just pops up anywhere, so how do I connect it with the activity I want?
Driving me mad. Probably a very simple solution. Look forward to it.

I agree - doing it this way doesn't work. I guess Ea doesn't know which object it belongs to.
I just got a new Intermediate Element from the toolbox, and dropped it onto the Activity - this seems to work fine.

I am not sure if this works, at least not correctly. The event is then just inside the activity, not on the boundary or border.  That is not what I would expect from an boundary event, is it not?

Drag the event from the toolbox and drop it on the Activity then choose 'Edge-mounted' from the sub-menu.
