Adding requirement sterotypes

I have added a new stereotype "Product" to the "Requirement" element using the Settings->UML Types menu, but I am not able to select it when editing properties of a requirement element.

I tried to add a new class stereotype - this worked fine.

Usually you define those "stereotypes" via Settings/General Types/Requirements. The quotes because for Requirements EA calls them Types, not Stereotypes. Heaven knows why.

Is it it possible to pre-populate such a new stereotype with custom tags/tagged values? I haven't been able to do this so far.

No, to define tagged values for a stereotype you will need to create a UML Profile.
