Lowest edition of EA for db rev / fwd engineering?
« on: January 10, 2014, 04:41:23 am »
What's the lowest edition / license level of EA that supports both database forward and reverse engineering. From what I can tell, EA Desktop does not have this functionality. Only Professional and above. Correct?

I can only tell that Corporate can do it. IIRC there's a comparison table on Sparx main page for EA sales.

Thanks, this is the comparsion matrix I saw:

http://www.sparxsystems.com/products/ea/index.html#editions

Professional, one step below Corporate, is checked for Database Engineering. But wondering if there are any fwd / rev engineering functionality differences between Professional and Corporate.

Is the only notable difference that Corporate allows the use of a shared DB repository for DB models, while Professional would not allow model access via a shared DB repository?

There are no functional differences between enabled features. It's only they work or the don't in a edition.
