Change Look & Feel of Legend

Why are there no options to change the background and border of a legend as well as Legend text size, color and position?

So I'm stuck with whatever you force on me?  I am talking about the legend object itself, not the legend's items

On the Legend dialog there is a button called Style Options; if you click on that, you get the Style Options dialog, which enables you to change the heading size and colour, background colour and border colour of the Legend element itself.

Is that what you wanted to do?

How can we add a dashed line to the Legend instead of only solid colored lines?  Or dashed borders around the fill elements?

I'm puzzled.

The legend element has a formatting toolbar, but ignores all formatting options except for font, and even then ignores the font colour.
