create custom connector types?
« on: July 22, 2014, 09:34:11 am »
Hi,

So at my work, we're trying to move some of our existing documentation into Enterprise Architect - we have a large number of systems and we would like to use EA's ability to link different elements to each other.

Due to the large number of possible relationships between elements, I would like to ask if there is a way we can create custom connectors or relationships between elements.

So in the Traceability Window, all my elements have relationships such as "links from" or "part of" or "composed of".

This window seems useful cause I can see all of the linkages for any element, but given the large number of relationships in my model, I would be a little bit more specific about these linkages. Is it possible to define my own relationships (eg. "is a Type B validation of" or "grandfathered by") so that it is grouped as such in the traceability window.

The traceability window doesn't know about your new connector types. It only considers the base EA type for the connector.
