Nested view of Element list

Hi,

I'm new to Enterprise Architect and am currently using it for requirements management. I've found a nice whitepaper which explains very nice how EA can be used for this.

In the whitepaper, a screenshot of a nested Element List is inserted, which can be used to view parent/child dependancies of requirements and also gives you the ability to expand/collaps requirements and their sub requirements.

I cannot find how to enable this nested view, however...

The nested view I mentioned can be found on page 11 as well as page 14.

Can anyone tell me how this view can be configured? I'm using EA Professional.

When the white paper was written, the Element List had a facility to show nested elements. The Element List has since been updated to provide other facilities, and the nested elements facility has been removed to avoid conflicts and confusion with the other hierarchical displays in the list. It will be restored at a later date, possibly with its own enhancements. I can't say when, though.

The white paper referenced in the original post was updated earlier this year and now describes functionality relevant to EA 11.

The functionality provided by the old "Element List" feature mentioned in the original post is most similar to the "Project Browser" view in the current version, which does allow for viewing elements in a hierarchy, with expand/collapse options, etc.  Please note that opening a diagram in "List View" mode appears similar to the Project Browser view, but does not provide options for viewing hierarchy and nested content - it only shows a flat list of elements that appear on the selected diagram.

New features such as the "Specification Manager" are better suited for this sort of purpose described by the original poster and are focused upon in the updated version of the Requirements Management white paper.
