Gap Analysis Matrix
« on: October 15, 2014, 02:06:37 am »
Is there any way to print or export the contents of a Gap Analysis Matrix profile?

If not, it seems a fairly pointless feature.

Thanks

Look at the very end of this topic, which says that you can transport Gap Analysis Matrix Profiles between projects by exporting and importing them as reference data.

http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/10/navigate_search_and_trace/gap_analysis_matrix.html

Is this sufficient for your purposes?

That doesn't really help as it just lets you transfer the profile to another model.

I am looking for one of the following:
  • ability to export the matrix to Excel
  • ability to include the matrix within the Sparx documentation tool
  • or ability to extract the data from the underlying tables by query
since at present it seems to provide a useful way to capture the gaps but no way to use the information as a means of communication outside the tool itself

You can print this with eaDocX: we added the function as a result of a customer request as they, like you, couldn't find another way to export it to a non-EA user. As of 11.1, I don't think the EA RTF supports it
