Create a Foreign Key outside table
« on: December 26, 2014, 12:42:29 pm »
Hi,
I am trying to create foreign key between two tables, but one of the table is not in the same diagram. So I can not use "Click on the Table to contain the Foreign Key (source) and draw the connector to the other Table and right-click on the connector and select the Foreign Keys context menu option" . Is there any way to create foreign key for the tables which is not in the same diagram? There must be a menu for the foreign key to choose source table and target table to create a foreign key.

Why not drag the 2nd table onto the diagram temporarily?

There is a command for creating a relationship directly from the project browser. But I would still recommend creating via the diagram. In my opinion it's easier, but more importantly it's encouraging you to make the link visible to people reading your model.
