Design interfaces- relations to Data attributes
« on: November 13, 2014, 03:22:30 am »
When designing an interface (for example, GUI, webservice interface) it would be nice to be able to use (and report on) the data and especially the attributes modelled in a class model.

Examples: on a GUI diagram, I want to link an element to an element in the class model (actual link in EA). Or, when designing a request / response class model for a web service, I want to reuse the attributes (not just copy them) in the interface model.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this? Is EA capable of doing this?

Related: In the RTF Template editor, I see a checkbox Element > Usage > Attribute. This sounds like what I want, but how is this link made? When does it report on this 'Usage'?

Thanks

I would like to be able to do the same, but it doesn't seem to be available or is not a UML thing. Other tools allow this. The only way I can see is to add a RefGUID type of tagged value to each attribute and link that way.

Did you get any other answer or response from Sparx?
