V12: Finger Trouble or Teething Trouble?
« on: February 25, 2015, 08:40:21 pm »
Browsed the website yesterday and lo and behold, v12 available.
Seems OK but a couple of minor niggles.

The tabs are located, by default, at the bottom of the Diagram View; if you prefer, you can move them to the top of the Diagram View, above the Status Bar, using the General Settings page of the Options dialog.
Well I cant find a reference in the options dialog to change the setting and mine defaulted to the top. Anyone?

2 All my workspace layout settings seem to have been erased.

3 My project is under version control and has been since version 9, all OK. but now on opening the project (MSSQL repository) I get

Error while initializing Version Control provider:
TFS reports: Workspace 'Computer_Name_1' is owned by 'My_User_Name'.
This does not match the user name or display name that you have entered.
Please verify that your user name and display name are entered correctly and that you are connecting to a workspace that is owned by you.
Any ideas what this is about. Is the workspace a reference to TFS? I don't want to break my connections to TFS, but it looks like the V12 may have done that for me??
DGB Using 12.0.1214 / eaDocX 3.6.2.1 / MSSQL / TFS / Windows 7 / IE11

Hi Doug

I can answer the first question

To set your diagram tabs at the bottom of the view

1) Select Visual Styles from the Views main menu
2) Check the checkbox named Main View Tabs at bottom (restart)
3) Click OK
4) Restart EA

All should now be back at the bottom

Sorry cannot help at the moment with the Version Control question

All the best

Phil

2. Yes that has been confirmed by Sparx. If you really want there a workaround to get them back, without guarantees however.

3. Yes that is a reference to the TFS workspace. I guess they added an extra control to make sure not to check-in on someone elses workspace.

I don't have that issue with the TFS workspaces, but I guess that is because we use security with windows authentication and so my username is the same as the one registered on the TFS workspace.

Try playing with the "current author" to match the name known by windows. That might do the trick.

I have found this reference in the Help and corrected it too. Sorry about that!

Thanks all for your help.

Geert, I am using windows authentication which is why I am surprised to get the error message.

That is weird indeed. An you are sure the TFS workspace you are connected to is actually yours?
